Smell Sexy

Here is one of purchases made from Bath & Body Works during our last trip to San Diego. Its called Sensual Amber. It does live up to its name and smells just amazing and of course there is something sensual about it. I feel really divine to splash a good amount of it right after a hot steamy shower. Now that its almost wintery here in UK, I'm putting all the body lotions to test and this one does the job just right.
If just smelling sensual isn't good enough, here are few other reasons why I love using this body lotion:
1. Cruelty-free (not tested on animals)
2. Contains Aloe Vera extract - which is always good for the skin
3. Its non-greasy
4. Smells sexy ;)

Failing driving test = Healthy eating

My very first attempt at car driving test was a utter disappointment. I must admit that although I had performed fairly well with getting all the manoeuvres and driving for the first 30 minutes, I made an awfully silly mistake towards the end which I thoroughly repent (huh! its just silly of me ...trust me!). Only if I hadn't....but we do not really get many choices always, do we??? So. after breaking the sad news to my husband (who was ever so optimistic and made it look normal to fail!!), I set out reading some motivational stuff on the internet just to refrain myself from the test (p.s I really need an overdose of good stuff to prevent me from sinking into depression :)).

The 'old me' in such situations would have given the test re-thoughts a zillion times for the next few days, not to forget that I would almost go silent and talk minimum until i get back to normal. However, the 'New Me' (smiles and wink) is totally different! I rather preferred looking up the test website for the next available date and get on with life. Now, that's much easier to handle for me. Phew...why wasn't I like this before??? Strikes me!!

Now lets look at what made eat right after failing my driving test. As mentioned above that I do need a motivation overdose to get me out of this huge well (which I picture in my brain as the driving test centre, with many cars  and random people trying to pull me down...weird I know!!). So the very afternoon while surfing, I came across this health blog which made me change the small little things I never gave a thought before. After Reading a few posts, I realized I wanted to get fit. Although I must be slightly overweight..say 2-3 kgs, I do know for sure that I am not fit. If I were to have a race with my mom, I am very certain that she would easily win it (my mom..I tell you..!).

Ever since that day, I have made some tiny changes and have started to take baby steps towards fitness. I am in no hurry whatsoever and would like to make this change gradual and everlasting.

Few changes made since last 10 days:
1. Cutting down normal portions a wee bit
2. Eating 5 healthy portions a day
3. Salads are a must with lunch and dinner
4. Eating fruits/smoothies as brunch or evening snacks
5. Drinking plenty of water (I used managed to drink 4 glasses max before...I have doubled the amount now)
6. Stopped buying snacks and fizzy drinks, colas, crisps, chocolates from superstore
7. Regular brisk walking (to begin with)

So the moral of my story goes something like this

DRIVING TEST FAILURE = = MOTIVATION = HEALTHY EATING = ME HAPPY:-)

Beautifully nude lips

This Sally Hansen Natural Beauty lipstick in the shade Seashell Nude is one of my favourite nude lipsticks in recent times. It has a very browny pinkish bronzy look to it in the tube and looks amazing when worn. Its perfect shade for me for one of those days when I have a smokey eyed look and want something simple for my lips. Also, its one of my everyday wear lipstick when I am lazy to do any make-up and just want to perk up my face a bit.

Seashell nude has a light crèmy consistency which keeps my lips moisturised. I would definitely say its one of the must-try lipsticks especially for women who are wanting to try nude lipsticks.

Here's a swap of the lipstick in natural light without flash.

The picture of me wearing the lipstick below does not do full justice to the shade ..it looks much paler here..pardon me for my zilch photography skills..I'm working on it and hope to put up better pictures.

Bye Bye Baking

Cakes baked so far..now doesn't that look gud!!

Ever since my job contract ended in July, I was trying to find ways to kill time, not just by doing anything, but, something I really enjoy. This is when I started to bake.

Hmmm..I had fallen in love with baking...the whole process of looking up recipes from blogs of all pro's and baking had become by new found passion. I managed to bake 6 different cakes in two months !!!! not to mention that my husband and friends had become victims to my bake-a-thon. These sweet people were more than happy to eat away all the cakes I baked in matter of days which made me even more happy .............U N T I L one day last week...

I stumbled upon a blog which made me realise that my bake-a-thon was doing no good my health Although I spent the entire last month purchasing all fancy baking equipments (which I absolutely love ...big smile), I suddenly felt a rush of guilt kicking in. I had no track of the calories that hubby, friends and me had eaten away in the past few months. That's IT!!! I told myself .I am no more going to bake unless there is a special occasion to celebrate with family and friends.

Its now been 5 days that I have been eating right and I can already feel the difference. I feel more lighter and active than before and all thanks to my new fitness guru-her blog motivates me to get fit and healthy. Anyone interested reading this all motivating, trendy, sweet and fun blog -its listed in the blogs I follow section.

I hope to keep up this routine and make healthy eating my lifestyle.

Smelling all Vanilla

For all women out there who love the thought of smearing smooth butter (minus the greasy feeling of course!!) all over themselves, here is the final STOP! Its the Nutmeg and Vanilla Body Butter from one of my absolute favourite shops, The Body Shop. It comes in a 200 ml pretty creamish-brown tub with a butter-scotch coloured body butter with smooth consistency. Although I admit randomly picking up this item when it was on sale, I must say that it is one of the best body butters I have tried until now.

The body butter has nutmeg extract with very vanilla aroma to it and a small finger dip sized portion goes a long-way. It has a smooth buttery consistency and does not leave you feeling greasy on application. I use it immedietly after I step out of the shower and this skin-softner as it says on its label indeed leaves my skin feeling smooth and supple for atleast 8 hours after - even when I'm outside all day. Considering that I have  fairly normal skin on my body, it does work very well. I can even smell the vanilla hours after I've applied it. Its a must try item according to me and I would definitely consider buying another jar of it soon.
